Mary M. Wilkinson

TERRE HAUTE — Mary M. Wilkinson, 85, of Terre Haute died Wednesday, May 9, 2012 in her residence. She was born March 25, 1927 in Terre Haute to Frank E. Wissel and Lula Kielblock Wissel. Mary was retired from Standard Register.   

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, George Wilkinson; a daughter, Donna Sanders and her husband Chad of Glendale, AZ; a son, Dan Wilkinson and his wife Laura of Terre Haute; a sister, Laura Reddicks of Terre Haute; four grandchildren, John Sylvester, Mindy Gregory, Rachel Wilkinson, and Kayla Wilkinson; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Marshall Thompson, Bill Thompson, Walt Thompson, and Richard Thompson.     

Mary was a member of the former Dean Ave. Christian Church, was Past Senior Regent of the Ladies of the Moose, and was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She loved to play Bingo, dance and do crossword puzzles. Mary worked for the Wigwam Skating Rink and ran the concession stand at the Shrine Pool. All of her friends and family referred to her as “mom.”  

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 15, 2012 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street with Reverend Scott Harris officiating.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Wabash Valley, 400 8th Ave., Terre Haute, IN 47804. The family would like to say a special thanks to Hospice of the Wabash Valley’s Melissa and Cathy.
