West Terre Haute — Carol Ann (Mason) Scott, of West Terre Haute, passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, in her residence, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 62. Carol was born on Jan. 3, 1950, in Terre Haute, to Herbert A. Mason and Florence (Dhom) Mason.

She grew up loving the outdoors while helping with the family business at Southlake Beach in West Terre Haute. A 1967 graduate of West Vigo High School, she continued her education with a degree from Indiana State University. She went on to touch the lives of many colleagues, residents and families during her many years of service as a social worker at local health and rehabilitation centers, most recently at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation - Southwood.

Carol will lovingly be remembered for her devotion to family, fun-loving spirit, genuine personality and beautiful smile. She loved gardening, camping, walking, reading and being with her family. She devoted much of her time and energy as an adoring grandmother to her five grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Terry; children, Brian (Jennifer) Stockwell, Heather (Randall) Monroe, Adam and Jason (Michelle); treasured grandchildren, Kane, Korbin, Jackson, Reeve and Evelyn; mother, Florence; siblings, Herb (Laura), John, Jean (Norm) Cottrell, Steve; sister-in-law, Nancy; along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know her. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bob.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, in West Terre Haute. Funeral services will follow Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at 1 p.m at the funeral home.

Thank you to St. Vincent Cancer Care, VistaCare Hospice and every individual family member and dear friend who provided support, care and heartfelt condolences. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to VistaCare Hospice.

Our joys will be greater. Our love will be deeper. Our lives will be fuller. Because we shared your moment.
