TERRE HAUTE — Edith Maxine (Bidgood) Hughes, 84, of Terre Haute passed away at 12:35 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2012, in her residence. She was born Feb. 11, 1927, in Danville, Ind. to Fred Bidgood and Edith Faye Owens Bidgood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold C. Hughes.

Survivors include: four children, Genia (Minett) Hughes, Judy A. Hughes Myers and her husband, Steve Myers, Russell C. Hughes and his wife, Jill Hughes, and Beau Hughes and his wife, Marlene Hughes; 30 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and extended family.

She was also preceded in death by three sons, Chuck, Benny, and John Hughes.

She was a member of the Loyal Order Of The Moose, and avid contributor to the Mooseheart, veterans associations, and the U.S. Navy Memorial. She was also an avid reader and had a very strong faith in the Lord.

A Celebration of Life service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, in her home at 1003 S. 17th St., Terre Haute, IN 47803 with the Rev. Kyle Andrews officiating. Cremation has been scheduled. Fitzpatrick Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
