TERRE HAUTE — Preston Michael Lane, age 11, earned his angel's wings on Sept. 10, 2012. Preston (lovingly called Boo and Preddon) was born on May 29, 2001, in Champaign, Ill., and most recently attended Jefferson City Middle School, in Jefferson City, Tenn. He was a bright and friendly sixth grader. He loved camping, fishing, hunting, swimming, anything outdoors, roller coasters, the Smoky Mountains, and playing games with his brothers, Collin and Joshua. Preston enjoyed being a part of the youth group at Jefferson City Christian Church, and recently built a sailboat. He dreamed of sailing around the world.

His little sister, Jazzy (6) joins him on his journey. Brothers Joshua and Collin stay with their worldly family, also surviving are his parents, Danielle Lane of Tennessee, and Chad and Lynette Lane of Alabama; grandparents, Sam and Susan Lane of West Terre Haute, and Beverly Evard; Aunts and Uncles: Carrie and Josh Pritchett, Jason and Faith Lane, Derek Carson, Jay and Missy Davidson, and Sheila and Mark Wright; cousins, Anden, Brynlee, Charity, Hope, Dylan, Caleb, Martika, and Prometheus. Special family members, Terry, Bryan, Jackie, Alex and Nick Hackett, Nicole, Jamie and Donald Story, and Jim Bob and Harley Plew. He sends a big smile and wave to his other family members and friends, especially those from school, church and his neighborhoods.

There will be services both in Tennessee and in West Terre Haute. The service in Tennessee will be 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at Green Acres Baptist Church, 10144 Old Rutledge Pike, Mascot, Tenn. Visitation will be 4 p.m. until service time Thursday, in the church. Local services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. 3rd St., West Terre Haute, with the Rev. Chris Wilbur, Father Bernard Head, and Sister Joan Slobig officiating. Visitation is 9 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. Saturday, in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made at any Old National Bank location. Online condolences may be made at both www.mccartyevergreen.com or www.fitzpatrick-funeralhome.com
