Born May 21, 1931, Lee passed away Sept. 9, 2012, at age 81. Lee is survived by his wife of 31 years, Barbara; his children, Sharon Penfold (Gary), Connie Hall, Mike Roads (Debi), Angela Leonard (Chris); seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Lee was with Devoe Paints in California, and moved to Terre Haute in 1973, to become president of MAB Paints.
Lee was active in the Terre Haute Community serving as Chairman of the Board of the Terre Haute Area Chamber of Commerce from 1979-80. Lee served on many boards including St. Mary-of-the-Woods, the YMCA and the Boy Scouts of America, receiving the Silver Beaver Award for the Highest Service to Youth. Lee truly enjoyed his hunting and fishing trips shared with many over the years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Gulf Harbors Yacht Club, in New Port Richey, Fla., at a later date. Contributions in his honor can be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society, the Boy Scouts of America, Hospice, or the charity of your choice.
