  UPDATE 4: Deadly tornado roars through Oklahoma City suburb

  A monstrous tornado at least a half-mile wide roared through the Oklahoma City suburbs Monday, flattening entire neighborhoods and destroying an elementary school with a direct blow as children and teachers huddled against winds up to 200 mph. At least 51 people were killed, and officials said the death toll was expected to rise.

Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Sue (Eades) Baker

KOKOMO — Jacqueline “Jackie” Sue (Eades) Baker, 56, of Kokomo, died at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at her home. She was born June 22, 1956, in Kokomo, the daughter of William Kenneth and Bernita J. (Bolinger) Eades. She was married to her first husband Jerry Fitchpatrick, who preceded her in death. On Dec. 21, 1984, in Terre Haute, she married Stan Baker, who survives.

Jackie was a graduate of Taylor High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and reading.

Jackie is survived by her husband Stan; mother, Bernita Eades; two daughters, Shellie Fitchpatrick and Ammie Fitchpatrick; grandchildren, Kiersten Fitchpatrick, Alexandria Blair, Jerry Dean Paul, Gabrielle Fitchpatrick, Shellee Sayre, Bryce Weir, and Alyssa Hassle; brother, Tom Eades and wife Jane; three sisters, Shirley Garro and husband Mike, Carole McKibben and husband Gary, and Sharon Summer; brothers-in-law, Bob Baker and wife Denna, Kenny Baker and wife Janet, Bill Gilbert and wife Loria, and Chuck Maynard and wife Kathy; a very special friend, Patricia Gilbert; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Jackie was preceded in death by her father; first husband; grandmothers, Opal Smith and Ruth Bolinger; niece, Laura Leigh Eades; and several aunts and uncles.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at First Baptist Church, 310 West Taylor St., with Pastor Bob Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday.
