MARSHALL, Ill. — Charles E. “Chuck” Freeman, age 70, of Marshall, Ill. passed away at 11:23 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at the Burnsides Community Health Center in Marshall, Ill.

He was born on June 11, 1942, in Darwin, Ill. to Andrew J. and Evelyn (Stevens) Freeman. He married Marie Babcock on April 3, 1993 in Martinsville, Ill.

He was a retired Police Officer.

Mr. Freeman is survived by his wife Marie of Marshall, Ill.; two sons, Scott Freeman of Texas and Derek (Cricket) Freeman of Texas; one grandson, Dylan Freeman of Texas; two sisters, Ruth Elston of Phoenix, and Dorothy (Charlie) Highhouse of Kingman, Ariz.; one aunt, Rosela Hulce of Marion, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was served in the Air Force for over 20 years as an MP, was member of Clark County Post No. 90 of the American Legion and loved to play his Dulcimer.

Funeral Services will be at the Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall, Ill at 2 p.m. Sunday Sept. 9, 2012, with the Rev. Tim Duke officiating. Burial will follow in the Marshall Cemetery with graveside military rites by Clark County Post No. 90 of the American Legion and VFW Post No. 5975. Visitation will be From 12 Noon until service time at the funeral home. For those so desiring memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
