Glain W. Lingafelter

TERRE HAUTE — Mr. Glain W. Lingafelter, 96, of Terre Haute, formerly of Hutsonville, Ill., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at 4 p.m. at the Davis Gardens Health Center, Terre Haute, following a period of declining health.

He was born May 5, 1916 in Annapolis, Ill., the son of James C. and Alice (Shanks) Lingafelter. On June 6, 1942, he married Evelyn “Irene” (Wolfe) Lingafelter, and she survives.

He graduated Hutsonville High School in 1934 and held diplomas from Chicago Technical College, Architectural Drafting and ICS Mechanical Engineering. He was employed at the CIPS Generating Station Hutsonville, as a results engineer, retiring in 1978. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry during WWII, and he was a member of the Hutsonville Methodist Church, Hutsonville; a 50 plus year member of the AF&M 250, Robinson; E.M. Coulter Post #69, American Legion, Robinson; the Wabash Valley Camera Club, Terre Haute; and the Photographic Society of America.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Lingafelter, Terre Haute; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra S. and Brian Huber of Lewis Center, Ohio, and Alice Jane and Phillip Stephens, Batesville; five grandchildren, Clayton and Kristen Huber of Tipp City, Ohio, Justin Huber of Hedgesville, W. Va., Robert and Emily, New Palestine, Joseph and Tisha Stephens, Louisville, Ky., and Gavin and Amy Stephens, Louisville; five great-grandchildren; four nieces; and one nephew.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one nephew.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at the Pulliam Funeral Home, Hutsonville, Ill., with the Rev. Sandra Huber officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until services Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, rural Annapolis, Ill. Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of the Wabash Valley or the American Cancer Society, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
