Virginia ‘Ginny’ Ruth Brenton Boone

DUGGER — Virginia “Ginny” Ruth Brenton Boone, 83, of Dugger, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, surrounded by her family.

She was born on Sept. 10, 1929, in Hutsonville, Ill., the daughter of Charles Brenton and Mamie White Brenton.

She was a member of the Eastern Star and retired from Regional Hospital after 35 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, Harold C. Boone, whom she married on Oct. 15, 1949; and two brothers, Charles and Dewayne Brenton.

Survivors include three daughters, Lisa Suzanne Boone of Dugger, Kathy Elaine Jones of Gardeners, Pa., and Karen Denise Gilbert of Sullivan; two sons, Charles Harold Boone (Kelly) of Dugger, and Douglas Eric Boone of Terre Haute; three brothers, Richard Brenton (Pat) of Sullivan, Harold Ray Brenton (Judy) of Indianapolis, Rex Brenton (Judy) of Dugger; one sister, Ruby Moyes (Kenneth) of Newburg, Ind.; 12 grandchildren, Nicole Cook, Melissa Hutchings, Joshua Jones, Mindy Loftus, Misty Baker, Alicia Burger, Megan Taylor, Justin Hawkins, Brianna Boone, Tiffany Samuels, Zachary Boone and Ethan Boone; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, with Pastor Kenny Moyes officiating. Interment will follow in the Dugger Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday at Newkirk’s Funeral Home.
