Ira Dean Wilson, 83, of Terre Haute, passed away at 9:05 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, in his residence. He was born in Vigo, Ind., on May 16, 1929, to Alva Wilson and Amanda Bowman Wilson. He was a retired welder and supervisor for Terre Haute Industries.
He is survived by his wife, Norma McCoskey Wilson, whom he married June 9, 1951. He also is survived by his children, Kathy Selvia, Richard Wilson (and Amanda Adkins), Connie Young and husband David, and Terri Welker and husband Harold. Also surviving are two brothers, Denzel Wilson and Robert Wilson and wife Beverly; two sisters, Charlene Steinhauser and husband Bob and Doris Snodgrass; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Wilson and Donald Wilson; and one grandson, James Wilson.
He was a member of Voiture 40/8 and Krietenstein American Legion Post 104. Graveside services will be held at Watson Cemetery on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Wendell Kirkman officiating. Burial will follow in Watson Cemetery. There is no visitation prior to the service. Arrangements are under the direction of DeBaun Springhill Chapel.
