TERRE HAUTE — Shirley Smith, 55, of Terre Haute, passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at her residence. She was born in Kentucky on May 6, 1957, to Leo Ferguson and Verna Estepp Blankenship.

She had a passion for fishing, bird watching, dogs and dolphins. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Juanita Johnson.

She is survived by her husband, Loren Smith, whom she married May 20, 1988; a daughter, Heather Blankenship of Terre Haute; stepdaughters, Angie Smith and Jennifer Lee Smith, both of Crawfordsville; two brothers, Richard Blankenship and wife Jeanie, and Ernie Blankenship and wife Sue, all of Terre Haute; two sisters, Ruth Blankenship, and Fay Sayer and husband Michael, all of Florida; three grandchildren, Gaige Cordell, Tianna Farley and Neena Farley; two aunts and one uncle; several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services will be Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at 2 p.m., at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St., with visitation from 12 noon. until service time. The Rev. Jeff Lee will be officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at:
