Ruth Louise Dellacca

CARBON — Ruth Louise Dellacca, 95, of Carbon, died Jan. 17, 2013, at her home. She was born in Brazil, Sept. 5, 1917, the daughter of Bernie and Louise (Brockmeier) Sawyer. She married Robert Dellacca May 20, 1935.

She enjoyed raising her family, crocheting, reading, embroidery, and flower gardening. Ruth also loved animals especially cats and birds. Ruth was a devoted member of Pilgrim Holiness/Wesleyan Church. She served as Sunday School teacher and superintendent, missionary president, former member of the board of directors, and a Bible School director.

In addition to her parents, Bernie and Louise Sawyer, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Daisy Coleman, Betty Phillips, and Georgia Shutt.

Survivors include her three children, Patricia “Patty” Gonser–Rose of Carbon, Don Dellacca of Greenwood, and John David Dellacca of Carbon; grandchildren, Rick Gonser, Karen Couch, Ann Louise Clifton, Robert Gonser, Rhonda Godfrey, Rick Dellacca, Renita Dellacca, and Ron Dellacca; great-grandchildren, Richard, Ryan, Michael, Vanessa, Brandon, Chelsea, Ethan, Danielle, Makayla, Cheyenne, Benjamin, Erica, Chris, Derrick, Jennifer, Charlie Ray, and Tana; seven great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Breece; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Services will be at Lawson–Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave., in Brazil, Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at 1 p.m. with her grandson, Robert Gonser officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday, from 5 to 8 p.m. Visit www.lawson-millerchapel.
