Mary Ruth King, 91, of Terre Haute, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. Mary Ruth was born March 6, 1921, in Vigo County, to Walter Power and Lenna (Mater) Power. She had retired in 1984 from Sears and had previously worked at Commercial Solvents.
She is survived by daughters, Carol Essex of Terre Haute and Mary Ann Wawzysko and her husband Tod of Kansas; brother, Carl Power and his wife Peggy of Gulf Shores, Ala.; and grandchildren, David Essex and Michelle Wawzysko. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, whom she married in 1954, Robert King, died in 1992; brothers, Dale Power, Ernest “Bab” Power, and Robert Power; and sisters, Esther Newlin, Lois Hall, and Elsie Watson.
Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive, with funeral services to follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor David Deal officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Creek West Lawn Cemetery.
