SHELBURN — Neil Gilbert, 55, of Shelburn, passed away on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at IU Methodist Health University in Indianapolis. He was born on July 13, 1957, in Sullivan County, to Jack and Mary Kathryn Gilbert. Neil was a 1975 graduate of North Central High School, an avid reader, a history buff, and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sullivan.

He was preceded in death by his father; and two brothers, Bradley Neil Gilbert, and Christopher Gilbert.

Survivors include his mother; a brother, Mark (Deb) of Sullivan; and a sister, Mindy Gilbert of Shelburn; two nieces, Lindsay Hunter and Meredith Gilbert; and two nephews, Ian Gilbert and Jordan Gilbert.

Services for Neil will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, in Sullivan, with the Rev. Frank Renner officiating. Visitation will be on Monday at Holmes Memorial Chapel, in Sullivan, from 4 to 8 p.m., with prayer service at 7 p.m. Burial will follow in Little Flock Cemetery. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or the Chris Gilbert Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o The Wabash Valley Community Foundation, 2901 Ohio Blvd., Suite 153, Terre Haute, In. 47803 Envelopes will be at the funeral home.
