D. Maxine Bedwell, 83, of Terre Haute, passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, in Union Hospital. Maxine was born in New Goshen, June 24, 1929, to Cecil Kirkham and Fay Lake Kirkham.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford Bedwell, who passed away July 27, 2001; one brother, Merle Kirkham, and one sister, Shirley Leberman.

She was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. She was a volunteer for the Salvation Army and Terre Town School. She is survived by one daughter, Rena Kress and her husband Stephen of Terre Haute; one son, Randy Bedwell and his wife Terry of West Terre Haute; four brothers, Gerald Kirkham and his wife Barbara of Borden, Ind., Donald Kirkham and his wife Mary of Tolona, Ill, John Kirkham and his wife Ann of State Line, Ind., and Gail Girkham and his wife Bobby of Terre Haute; two sisters, Barbara Gallivan of Ivesdale, Ill., and Sharon Adams of Shelburn; one granddaughter, Stephanie Kress and her husband Matthew Jahnkee of Lafayette; two step-grandchildren, Jack Hayes and Shannon Hayes; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 215 N. Seventh St., Terre Haute. Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. on Sunday, at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St., and at the church from 9 a.m. until service time on Monday. The Rev. Mary Slensky will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Salvation Army. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery, on line condolences may be made at: www.greinerfuneralhome.com
