CLINTON — Charles M. Ford, 69, of Clinton, passed away at 1:22 a.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. He was born on Oct. 20, 1943, in Terre Haute, to Willie Oscar Ford and Bertha Iona Taylor Ford.
He served in the U.S. Army. He married Nancy Conder on April 23, 1966, and she survives. He was a retired machinist from Eli Lilly. He was a member of St. Bernice American Legion 108.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard “Boy” Ford, and Bill and his wife, Bert Ford; and sisters, Catherine “Toots” Biggs, Ellen “Weise” Lawrie, and Jackie Lynn Cheesman.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Ford, of Clinton; a son, Chuck Ford of Clinton; a daughter, Charleen Rayl and one beloved granddaughter, Ellen Jeanette Rayl, both of San Bruno, Calif.; sisters, Genevieve “Jenny” and John Mikolajczyk, Sarah Bennett, and Nancy Jo and Dave Lindsey; sister-in-law, Liz Ford; brothers, John and Kathy Ford, Paul and Debbie Ford, and Jim Ford; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Frist Funeral Home, 458 Blackman St., in Clinton. Cremation was chosen. A private service will be held at a later date.
