TERRE HAUTE — Carol S. Crawford, 69, of Terre Haute, died Friday morning, March 30, 2012, in Union Hospital. She was a retired school teacher having taught at Terre Haute North Vigo High School for nearly 20 years. Carol was born July 10, 1942, in Paris, Illinois, to Charles Kenneth Miller and Mary Jane Weberg Miller. Her husband, James L. Crawford, preceded her in death in 2003.

Survivors include her daughter, Sherri Sapp of Terre Haute; her son, Matthew McCallum and his wife, Hilary Jordan, of Chicago, IL; her sister, Joan Watson and her husband, Bob, of Terre Haute; two step-daughters, Cathy Crawford of Indianapolis and Christy Crawford of Terre Haute; a step-son, James T. “JT” Crawford and his wife, Quincy, of New Orleans, LA; four grandchildren, Chris Essex, Brent Essex, Kade Sapp & Max McCallum; three step-grandchildren, Turner Crawford, Layke Fowler & Cordell Crawford; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mary Paige, Linda Potts and Phil Pickens. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Carol was a graduate of Wiley High School and Indiana State University where she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She was active with The Maple Center for Integrative Health where she was a member of the board of directors.

A Celebration of Life for Carol is scheduled from 12:00 Noon- 3:00 P.M. Saturday, May 19, 2012, at the Saratoga Restaurant, 431 Wabash Avenue. The family kindly requests that memorial contributions may be made to The Maple Center for Integrative Health, 1801 North 6th St., Suite 600, Terre Haute, IN 47804. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street.
