---- — LINTON — Rosemary Denny Russell, 83, of Linton, died at 7:44 p.m. Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. She was born May 24, 1927, in Clay County, the daughter of Augustus “Doc” and Nellie (Hutchinson) Denny. She was retired from General Electric, after 26 years of service, was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Moose Lodge and Elks Lodge, all of Linton, and was of the Lutheran faith. She was a graduate of Jasonville High School.

Survivors include three daughters, Marlene Reedy-Krenk of Nashville, Tenn., Charlene Reedy-Witt of Farmersburg, and Rebecca Reedy-Johnson of Linton; a son, Donald Reedy of Jasonville; three brothers, Frank Ray Denny, Everett Denny and Norman Denny; a sister, June West; nine grandchildren, Kimberly Gore-Harbaugh of Terre Haute, April Johnson of Bloomington, Gary “Bubba” Johnson of Linton, Kelly Krenk-Kirksey of Atlanta, Jay Krenk of Nashville, Robert Witt of Terre Haute, Jamie Witt-Cox of Terre Haute, Kara DeWitt of Plainfield, and Adi Eckard of Memphis, Tenn.; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don “Frog” Russell; a brother, Freeman Harold Denny; and a sister, Hazel Talpay.

Services are 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home, 140 E. Vincennes St., in Linton, with Brad Darr officiating. Burial is at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and 10 a.m. until services Friday. The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association through the funeral home.
