Della Lee Bortner

TERRE HAUTE — Della Lee Bortner, age 86, of Fairborn, Ohio, passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, in the Hospice of Dayton. She was born Dec. 25, 1926, in Terre Haute, Ind., the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Rogers. Della had been employed at Frisch’s Restaurant in Fairborn and she retired as a case manager with Toward Independence in Xenia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Malmstrom; second husband, Maurice Bortner; a granddaughter, Michelle Malmstrom; and two brothers, Bill Shepherd and Clifford Woods. She is survived by three children, Bob (Connie) Malmstrom, Diane (Ken) Bullard, and Becky (David) Evans, all of Fairborn; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; twin-sister, Ella Sorlie of Terre Haute; sister, Norma Jean McAfee of Georgia; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held today, Feb. 20, 2013, at 2 p.m. in Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., in Fairborn, with Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Dayton.
