BRAZIL — Donna Jean Ringo, 71, of Brazil, passed away at Regional Hospital, Feb. 13, 2013, following an extended illness.

Donna was born in Clay County, Sept. 6, 1941, the daughter of Glenn and Helen (Romas) Kumpf. She graduated from Staunton High School with the class of 1959. She married Larry Ringo on Aug. 19, 1962. Donna worked for Columbia Records in Terre Haute and Flicks Restaurant. Along with her husband, she owned and operated Party Rentals and Cake Decorating for 17 years. Donna also worked at Maurizio’s Pizza with her son Kevin for several years. Donna enjoyed collecting recipes and going to yard sales to collect cookbooks, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Glenn Kumpf, and a brother, James Kumpf.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Ringo; two sons, Kevin Ringo and wife Deb, and Jim Ringo and wife Jenny; grandchildren, Connor, Leslie, Trevor, Madelyn and Emily Ringo; step-grandchildren, Stephanie, Robert and Courtney Plummer; her mother, Helen Kumpf; her sister, Carol Eder (John); sister-in-law, Kay Ann Deverick; dear aunt, Mary Lou Riddell; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members. She will also be missed by her beloved Shih Tzu, Sammy.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday at French Funeral Home. Services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Steve Moore officiating. Private burial services will be held at Summit Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the YMCA of Clay County, 225 E. Kruzan St., Brazil, IN 47834.
