Lynn Jennings Curts Wolf, 75, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2012, after a long battle with ovarian cancer. Lynn was born May 31, 1936, in Paris, Ill., to Lyle Jennings and Anne Pasero Jennings.
Lynn graduated from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College in 1958 with a bachelor’s in music. She graduated from Indiana State University in the mid 1960’s with a master’s in English Education. She taught music and English for 32 years, 28 of those years in the Clay Community Schools. She loved to sing and was a member of many choruses and choirs throughout the years. She sang for many years in the Terre Haute Choral Society and was a member of the Vigo County Extension Chorus. Lynn was a caring educator, devoted to her work and her students. She was especially gifted in her work with troubled students. She worked after her retirement with CODA, 14th and Chestnut and Celebrate Recovery at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Terre Haute and Christ Community Church in Brazil, Ind.
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lyell Peter Jennings; and second husband, Phil Curts.
She is survived by her loving husband, John Wolf; sons, John Paul Seifert and his wife Debbi of Terre Haute and Arthur David Seifert of New York; a daughter, Helen Theresa Seifert and her husband Joseph Ralph Brinker of West Lafayette; and the children’s father, John Seifert of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Haley Lynn Seifert, Travis Walker, Christopher Brinker and his wife Aubrey, Kimberley Frazier, Michael John Brinker and his fiancé Crystal Edwards, Jared Todd Frazier, and Bryan Brinker and his wife Courtney; stepgrandchildren, Marion Adams, Dee Dee Latta and her husband Scott and Pat Enright; stepdaughters, Lisa James and Mary Walker; stepsons, Pat Enright and John Wolf; four sisters, Karen Jennings Miller, Anne Marie Jennings, Clare Jennings Eldredge and her husband Brad, and Liz Jennings; a brother, Michael William Jennings; great-grandchildren, Alexandria Pearl Brinker, Cora Lynn Brinker, Maddox Riley Brinker; and stepgreat-grandchildren, McKenna and Morgan Adams. She also is survived by Vickie Curts; and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has been chosen. A memorial service will be Sunday, May 27, 2012, at 3:30 p.m. at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, 3050 East Davis Drive, Terre Haute, Indiana 47803. Pastor Aaron Wheaton will be officiating. If friends so desire memorial contributions may be made to 14th & Chestnut or CODA. Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, assisted with arrangements.
