TERRE HAUTE — Janice Mae (Haughee) Haskett, 71, of Terre Haute, passed away in Union Hospital, Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, following a brief illness. She was born March 20, 1941, in Carbon, the daughter of Alexander and Anna (Cassiday) Haughee. Janice graduated from Van Buren High School with the class of 1960. Over the years she had worked as a caretaker, housekeeper and child care provider.

Janice loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping and having cookouts, watching soaps and working crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Anna Haughee; sisters Sandra (Haughee) Morlan and Carolyn Sue (Haughee) Conard; a brother, Terry Haughee; great-granddaughter, Makayla Lynn Grayless; and a stepdaughter-in-law, Peggy Haskett.

Janice is survived by her daughters, Madeline (Haughee) Grayless and husband Mike and Teresa (Haskett) Priehs and husband Mark, all of Terre Haute; a son, Johnny Ray Lydick of Terre Haute; stepsons, Alan Haskett of Terre Haute and Tim Haskett and wife Debbie of Florida; grandchildren, Mike (Amy) Grayless, Jessica (J.R.) Kiger, Larry (Amanda) Hair, Jimmy Hair, Markie Priehs, and Miranda Priehs; brothers, Richard (Diane) Haughee and Larry (Leslie) Haughee; stepgrandchildren, Cherish Miller (Rob), Alan Haskett, Brandon Haskett, Jessica Haskett, and John Haskett; as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Meadows Manor North, where Janice had been staying as well as the staff at Union Hospital especially her nurse Joyce during her stay in Intensive Care.

Services will be at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave., in Brazil, Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at 1 p.m. with Tim Fagg officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visit www.frenchfuneralhome.com to light a candle in her memory.
