Jeffrey “Jesse” R. James, 46, of Terre Haute, passed away on Nov. 17, 2012, at 1:42 a.m. He was born Sept. 28, 1966, to John James and Joan Rehl. Jeff worked at United States Penitentiary, in Terre Haute, for 20 years as a correctional officer.
He was a sports fanatic, avid Steelers football fan, NASCAR fan, and enjoyed golfing. He also enjoyed going to concerts. Jeff was a loving husband and father. He was known for being quick witted and a friend to everyone.
Jeff is preceded in death by his mother.
He is survived by his father; wife, Denise James; son, Jeffrey James; daughter, Carissa Yates (Joe); stepson, Travis Copas; stepdaughter, Amber Copas (Kyle Kleptz); brothers, Dick James (Anita), and Rick James (Debbie); grandchildren, Gage Copas, and one on the way; and nieces and nephews, Grant James, Ashley James, Jason James, and Heather James.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive. A place of burial is still being determined. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, from 3 to 8 p.m. Online condolences can be made at:
