J. Ann Lunsford

BRAZIL — J. Ann Lunsford, 68 of Brazil, passed away June 15, 2012, at home surrounded by her family. She was born Feb. 14, 1944, the daughter of Henry and Sophia Hale Nicoson. On October 1, 1961, Ann was united in marriage to Bobby Gene Lunsford, and together they raised their family in Clay County.  

Ann worked as a care-giver and CNA at Cloverleaf for over 18 years. She also worked at the Clay Health Center, Holly Hills and had cared for people in their own homes. She had attended Staunton Christian Church.  

Ann loved spending time with her close friends, Ann Head, Christine Fuller and Patty Curtis known as her Bingo Buddies. She was a loving wife, mother and grandma. She was a devoted fan of her grandchildren in whatever sport they were currently playing, including baseball, softball, and volleyball.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband’s parents, James and Mary Lunsford; daughter, Donna Jean Black; grandson, Kaden Zane Alexander; and special friend, Patty Swearingen.

Survivors include her husband Bob Lunsford; daughter, Connie Wells and husband Jim; son, Terry Lunsford and wife Teresa all of Brazil; six grandchildren, Cristen Johnson (Troy), T.J. Black, Heath Wells and fiancé Katie Hendricks, Faith Wells, Seth Lunsford, and Linzy Lunsford; five great-grandchildren, Chloey Johnson, Mason Alexander, Logan Alexander, Addy Johnson and Bella Johnson; four brothers-in-law, Ronal Lunsford, Joe Lunsford and wife Connie, Dan Lunsford, and Tom Lunsford and wife Julie; many nieces and nephews and other extended family.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at French Funeral Home with her nephew, Brock Lunsford, speaking and Pastor Barry Corder officiating. Burial will follow at Center Point Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again Tuesday prior to services. Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of the Wabash Valley or the American Diabetes Association.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Light a candle in her memory at:
