St. Louis — Marilyn Jean Archer, 63, of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Community Hospital South in Greenwood. She was born in Terre Haute, on May 10, 1946, to Bruce Phillip Archer and Dortha Virginia McLin Archer. She was a cosmetologist, most recently with Elder Beerman, and was a member of both St. Benedict Catholic Church and Maryland Community Church. Other memberships include Daughters of the Nile where she was a past queen, Order of Eastern Star Twelve Points Chapter 528, where she was a past Worthy Matron, and Kerman Caldron—past Mighty Chosen One.
She is survived by her son, Michael Phillip Archer and wife Stacy of Danville, Ind.; her granddaughter, Jillian Archer; her father, Bruce Phillip Archer of Terre Haute; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother.
Funeral services will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive, on Thursday, March 18, 2010, at 1 p.m., with Father Joel Burget officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the funeral home, with both Daughters of the Nile and Order of Eastern Star services immediately prior to the funeral. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, P.O. Box 3162, Terre Haute, IN 47803, in her memory.
