Wilma Jean Marshall

TERRE HAUTE — Wilma Jean Marshall, 79, of Terre Haute, passed away at 4:03 a.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2012, in Union Hospital. She was born in Terre Haute, on July 31, 1932, to Charles Slavens and Burdetta Hedge Slavens.

She is survived by her husband, Sidney P. Marshall Jr.; and mother of Patrick McCombs, Michael Reeve, Melody Diamond, Sidney P. Marshall III, and Jacqueline Marshall. She was the sister to Charles Slavens, Sue Shields, Barbara Vester, Larry Slavens, Patti Slavens, and Sharron Johnson. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria McCombs; one brother, Jackie Ray Slavens; and one sister, Evelyn Hargis.

Funeral services will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive, on Monday, May 14, 2012, at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. David Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, May 13, 2012, from 2 to 6 p.m. in the funeral home.
