TERRE HAUTE — Michael Manchester Short, 28, of Terre Haute, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012, due to asthma complications. He was born Sept. 12, 1983, in Milford, Del.

Michael is survived by his mother, Ada Ruth Short of Terre Haute, and his father, Thomas Chester Short of Dover, Del. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Marjorie Smith of Terre Haute; and fraternal grandparents, Horace and Elizabeth Short of Camden-Wyoming, Del.

Michael had been employed at Clinton Union Hospital completing his 12th year working in the Admissions Department. He graduated from Terre Haute North Vigo High School in 2002, and attended Indiana State University. One of the most important parts of his life was his Basenji, Billy who brought him such joy as his loyal friend.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 10, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m., in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive. A private burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to either the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, 8201 Corporate Drive.
