Glenice Kathleen Render Ramsey

Glenice Kathleen Render Ramsey died in her residence on July 17, 2012. She was born in Southfield, Michigan on November 3, 1925 to Howard and Elsie Render. She graduated from University of Michigan and worked as a teacher several times.

She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Earl C. Ramsey; her father, Howard Render, her mother Elsie Render, and her only brother Ronald J. Render. Survivors include 5 children: Brian Ramsey (Michelle Keisterman, Las Vegas, NV), Linda Golash (Oneata, NY), Betsy DeBiase (Raymond DeBiase, Jr., Wheaton, IL), William Ramsey (Anne Ramsey, Ridgewood, NJ), Marian Ramsey-Ford (David Ford –deceased, Terre Haute, IN); 12 grandchildren: Carrie Wolinetz (Silver Springs, MD), Scott Ramsey (Falmouth, MA), Abby Golash (Lebanon, NH), Julie Ramsey (Minneapolis, MN), Veronica DeBiase (Milwaukee, WI), Jennifer Ford (Terre Haute, IN), Elizabeth Ramsey (Ridgewood, NJ), Sarah Ford (Terre Haute, IN),  Kimberley DeBiase (Wheaton, IL), Emily Ford (Terre Haute, IN), Jon Ford (Terre Haute, IN),  Kate Ford Kintzel (Colorado) and five great-grandchildren: Shea R. Wolinetz (Silver Springs, MD), Evan B. Ramsey (Falmouth, MA), Scarlett A. Kane (Minneapolis, MN), Samuel Ford (Terre Haute, IN), and Matthew Ford (Terre Haute, IN).

She loved children and animals, and travelled the world extensively. She was active in many activities during her 37 years in Terre Haute, including Chapter BN, PEO; Assisted Learning and Living, Y-Me, Susan G. Komen, Woodgate Landowners, the Terre Haute Country Club, and the First Congregational Church.

Visitation will be on Saturday, July 28 from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM in the First Congregational Church, 630 Ohio Street, Terre Haute (812-232-8880) with a memorial service to follow at 4:00 P.M. officiated by Reverend Dawn Carlson. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th street.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the fund for Assisted Living and Learning, c/o the Wabash Valley Community Foundation, 2901 Ohio Blvd, Suite 153, Terre Haute, IN  47803 (http://wvcf.com/wabashvalleygives/)
