DANA — Lucille Francis Hamersley, 94, of Dana died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at Vermillion Convalescent Center. She was a homemaker and worked many years as a grocery store clerk at the Dana Grocery. She was born April 7, 1918, in Parke County, Ind., to the late Fred Ritchardson and Mary Bell Ritchardson.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, George Clark Hamersley, Sr. who died May 31, 2002.

Survivors include one son, George Clark Hamersley, Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Dana; two grandchildren, Malynda (Dwight) Scifres and Brad Hamersley; five great-grandchildren, Dana Scifres, Raychel, Sarah, Rebekah and Kimberly Hamersley; two brothers, Paul (Joan) Ritchardson of Jamestown and Fred (Marietta) Ritchardson of Nappanee and one sister-in-law, Sandy Ritchardson of Clinton; several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Robert Ritchardson and one sister, Rosemary Benton Blackwell.

She was a 1937 graduate of Dana High School and was one of two surviving students of that class. She was a member of the Community Bible Church in Dana.

Services are 12 noon Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at Community Bible Church of Dana with Marvin Miller and Fred Ritchardson officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations to be made to Community Bible Church, P.O. Box 673, Dana, IN 47847. Care and arrangements entrusted to Overpeck-Gooch Funeral Home, Dana. Friends may sign an online guest register at:
