Rosemary ‘Bodie’ Menestrina

TERRE HAUTE — Rosemary “Bodie” Menestrina, 80, of West Terre Haute, passed away peacefully at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at Southwood Health and Rehabilitation Center in Terre Haute. She was born April 12, 1932, in Vigo County, Ind., to Arthur Phillips and Betty Childress Phillips. Her Husband, Gerald “Whitey” Menestrina preceded her in death in 1993.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Menestrina and Ricky Menestrina and his wife Angel; five grandchildren, Jared Menestrina, Anthony Menestrina, Ashlee Brown and her husband Jason, Brittany Menestrina, and Alexander Menestrina and his wife Tristan; great-grandchildren, Austin Manuel, Annika Brown, and Easton Menestrina; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Phillips and Betty Phillips; many nieces and nephews including a special niece, Wanda Kay Toney, and a special nephew, Barney Reynolds; and a special friend, Helen Misner. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mildred “Mid” Reynolds, and Reba June Phillips; and four brothers, Arthur “Bud” Philllips, John Robert “Bob” Phillips, David Phillips, and James Phillips.

She was a member of the Bethany United Church of Christ and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends.

Rosemary’s funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., in West Terre Haute, with the Rev. Steve Moore officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday. Serving as pallbearers will be Jared Menestrina, Alex Menestrina, Tony Menestrina, Jason Brown, Greg Phillips, Jimmy Phillips, Tony Phillips, Lance Toney, and Jason Toney. The family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany United Church of Christ with envelopes available in funeral home.
