TERRE HAUTE — Kermit D. Land, 76, of Bargersville, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at his residence. Kermit was born on April 3, 1936, in Fairland, Ind., to Maurice and Allene Johnson Land, both of whom preceded him in death.

On Dec. 4, 1954, Kermit was married to the former Dorothy Settle. He retired from Moews Seed Company as the General Sales Manager and had previously worked for Farm Bureau Insurance Company. He also was a farmer in West Terre Haute.

Survivors include his wife; children, Matt Land (Bev), Mike Land (Andra), Connie Beasor (Bryan), and Cindy Land; a stepmother, Gladys Land; grandchildren, Angel Gordon (Todd), Andi Essex (Ernie), Greg Pine (Amanda), Charlotte Mitchell (Ben), Sam Beasor, Seth and Sarah Land, David, Adam and Katie Land, and Parker and Spencer Miller; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Stirling-Gerber Chapel, 5950 E. Thompson Rd., in Indianapolis, with interment following at New Palestine Cemetery. Friends may visit on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
