Brazil — Betty Ann Barnett, 81, of Brazil, died Friday morning, June 15, 2012, at Cloverleaf Healthcare in Knightsville. She was born Sept. 2, 1930, in Harmony, as the daughter of Archie and Norma Elliott Hillman.

She graduated from Brazil High School and married Joseph F. Barnett. She had been employed as the head cook at Jackson Township Elementary School. She also had worked a few years at Sony in Terre Haute, and as executive housekeeper at the Days Inn Hotel. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and had attended United Methodist Church of Center Point for several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Barnett in 1983; and a daughter, Kay Crabb.

She is survived by two sons, David F. Barnett (Carol) of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Joseph “Mike” Barnett (Deborah) of Rockville; daughter, Jane Crowley (Gene) of Center Point; grandchildren, Stacie Jeffries (Brent), Stephanie Barnett, Anne Marie Barnett, Lisa May Barnett, Brandon Crowley, Brooklyn Crowley, Sarah Crabb, Austin Wheeler, and Justin J. Barnett; great-grandchildren, Dylan N. Barnett and Max Michael Jeffries; sister, Barbara Davis of Amo, Ind.; and other extended family.

Moore Funeral Home was chosen to provide cremation services. A graveside memorial service will be at 3 p.m. today at Summit Lawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Ernie Rush Officiating.
