MARTINSVILLE, ILL. — MARTINSVILLE, Ill. — Mark Montgomery, 55, of Martinsville, passed away at 4:10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Ill., the result of a motorcycle accident. He was born June 21, 1956, in Terre Haute, Ind., the son of Leslie Allen Montgomery and Mary Lou Kelly Montgomery. On Dec. 18, 1986, he married Glenda M. Cook in Martinsville.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Glenda Montgomery of Martinsville; daughter, Kelly Montgomery and fiancé Blake Bunte of Martinsville; son, Dusty Montgomery of Martinsville; sister, Brenda Kay Kuhn and husband Doug of Casey, Ill.; brothers, Gary “Buck” Montgomery of Casey; Terry Wayne Montgomery and wife Denise of Auburn, Ill.; Roger Allen Montgomery of Lincoln, Ill.; mother, Mary Lou Allison of Martinsville; brothers-in-law, Jim Cook of Greenup, Ill., and Bill Cook of Rose Hill, Ill.; sisters-in-law, Janice Hammer and husband Bill of Rose Hill; Linda Deadmond and husband Mark of Toledo, Ill.; Judy Bolin of Casey, and Lisa Miller of Greenup, Ill.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Allen Montgomery; brother, Steve Montgomery; and father and mother-in-law, Jim and Wilma Cook.

Mark worked for Vesuvius as a molder in Charleston, Ill. He was U.S. Navy veteran and an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. He had a passion for playing cards with friends and family.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. CDT on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., in Martinsville, with the Rev. David Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Green Moss Cemetery, rural Martinsville, with graveside military rites by Martinsville American Legion. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today, June 22, 2012, at the funeral home. Memorial tributes may be shared with the family at: www.greenwellfh.com.
