Thomas G. Mancuso

TERRE HAUTE — Retired Lt. Col. Thomas G. Mancuso, 94, of Terre Haute, passed away at 10:28 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, in his home. He was born Jan. 25, 1918, in Chicago, to Anthony and Mary Mancuso.

Thomas was an active World War II and Korean War veteran. He was a retired Lt. Col. with the United States Air Force, a member of the 13th Squadron and was very proud of his service to his country. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and an active member of Wayne Newton Post 346. Thomas formerly owned the Villa Venice Restaurant and was the founder and owner of T’s Lounge. Thomas honored God and cherished his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Timothy Mancuso.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Helen McCormick Mancuso; his sons, Anthony “Tony” Mancuso of Terre Haute, and T.J. Mancuso of Colorado; and his daughter, Carol Pabst and her husband Dennis of Terre Haute. Thomas also is survived by his grandchildren, Beth Sandford, Brian Mancuso, Cassie Kelly, Joe Mancuso, Josh Pabst, Kyle McDaniels, Lesley Mancuso, Meghan Adcock, and Tony Mancuso.  

Mass of Christian burial will take place Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at 10 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 2405 South 7th St., in Terre Haute. Visitation will be on Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, from 4 to 7 p.m. with rosary at 7 p.m. at the church. Father Rick Ginther will be officiating; burial will be at Grandview Cemetery with military rights performed by Veterans of Foreign Wars 972 at the cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels; envelopes will be available at the church. Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th St., in Terre Haute, was entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at: www.greinerfuneralhome.com.
