Flora Kay Cottrell, 79, of Terre Haute died early Monday morning, December 3, 2012, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born November 1, 1933, in New Philadelphia, Ohio, to Percy P. Dickerson and Ida Geraldine Thompson Dickerson.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Wilbert C. “Bud” Cottrell; a son, Curt Cottrell and his wife, Barbara, of Scott City, KS; a daughter, Kelley Hendel and her husband, Bruce, of Murrieta, CA; a grandson, Matthew Cottrell of Rosedale, IN; and a granddaughter, Samantha Cottrell of Rosedale, IN.
Kay graduated from Wiley High School in 1952, attended ISU and went on to be a stewardess with Lake Central Airlines. She was active in the Sycamore Country Club and a long-time volunteer at Union Hospital. Kay was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and always made her home friendly and welcoming to her family and friends.
In accordance with Kay’s wishes, she will be cremated and have no visitation or funeral services. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street.
