TERRE HAUTE —
Dorothy Louise Pesavento, 84, of Terre Haute and formerly of Niles, Michigan, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012, in Royal Oaks Health Care and Rehabilitation. She was a secretary for American Electric Power in Niles. She was born October 22, 1927, in Terre Haute to John H. Duffy and Elizabeth Turk Duffy. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John R. Pesavento.
Survivors include her nieces and caregivers, Anita Gauer, Carla Gauer and Christine Lewis. She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Joseph Duffy, Patrick Duffy and Richard Duffy; and five sisters, Mary Coakley, Helen Stephens, Sister Beth Duffy, S.P., Martha Davis, and Margaret A. Servie.
Dorothy was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Niles and St. Benedict Catholic Church in Terre Haute. She will always be remembered for her ready smile and quick wit. She brought joy to all those who knew and loved her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 16, 2012, in St. Benedict Catholic Church with Friar Mark Weaver officiating. There is no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street. The family kindly request that memorial contributions be made to Alzheimers Association, 50 East 91st Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46209-4830.
