Howard Ishisaka of Ripon, Calif., passed away Nov. 25, 2011. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy; his mother, Roberta; his twin brother, Woodrow; his sister, Kimi; and his son, Jason. He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Ripon; his brother, Anthony; his stepdaughters, Kristin Baker (Scott) and Leslie Anderson (Philip); six grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins,
Howard attended elementary schools in Sacramento County, graduating from Elk Grove High School. He went on to receive B.S. and M.S. degrees at Sacramento State University. Howard taught at Peter Lassen Junior High School before pursuing his Doctorate at Oregon State University. Howard accepted a position at Indiana State University in the Department of Health and Safety. There he continued membership in Phi Kappa Phi and was a charter member and faculty sponsor for Eta Sigma Gamma, a health educator society at ISU. Retirement after 28 years took Howard back to California to be near his family. He was an advocate of exercise and spent many hours pursuing the sport of fishing. He enjoyed sharing his fishing skills with friends, family and associates.
A graveside service will be held in Terre Haute, Ind., on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Highland Lawn Cemetery. Any Memorial contributions may be sent to: “In honor of Howard S.
