BRAZIL — Virginia M. Walker, 95, of Brazil, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at Regional Hospital. She was born Jan. 12, 1917, in Terre Haute, to Henry and Martha (Weese) Kimple. She married Charles S. Walker, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 2007. Virginia enjoyed traveling with Charlie and went on many bus tours throughout the United States.

Virginia is survived by her son, Melvin Smithhart and wife Mary of Brazil; three grandsons, Mark and Andrew Smithhart, both of Brazil, and John Smithhart Sr. of Sanford, Fla.; three granddaughters, Cindy Morgan and husband Tom of Stone Island, Fla., Lori Burgess and husband Robert of Sanford, Fla., and Jamie Rogers and husband Brian of Longwood, Fla.; seven great-grandchildren, LaTisha Bowlin, John Smithhart Jr., Britnee Burgess, Andrew Burgess, Valerie Smithhart, all of Sanford, Fla., Tiffany Smithhart of Brazil, and Christian Rogers of Longwood, Fla.; and two great-great-grandchildren, Sarah and Matthew Bowlin of Sanford, Fla..

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years; brothers, John and Albert "Hap" Farmer; and sisters, Blanche Staggs and Margaret Heath.

Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home,7660 Lafayette Ave., in Terre Haute. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park, Terre Haute. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lighthouse Mission. Online condolences may be made at:
