Margaret D. Billings, 78, of Indianapolis, and formerly of Terre Haute, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, in Methodist Hospital, in Indianapolis. She was born Nov. 9, 1933, in Terre Haute, to Roy and Amy Walden Wade.

She graduated from the former Garfield High School. She worked at the U. S. Postal Service and the former Columbia Records. She was member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, and the former Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, both in Terre Haute.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Billings; two sons, Bennie Wade and Robert Billings; five brothers, Calvin, Eldridge, Donald, Roy and Marvin Wade; and two sisters, Flora and Bennie. She is survived by one son, Rodney Baker of Terre Haute; two stepsons, Wayne Billings (Roma) of Indianapolis, and Howard Billings of Terre Haute; two daughters, Lisa Wade Sibley (Lemuel) of Indianapolis, and Lucy Billings Jones (Scott) of Nashville, Tenn.; two sisters, Gwendolyn Smith (William) and Lucy Perchman, both of Terre Haute; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 2401 7th Ave., with the Rev. David Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon until services. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery.
