Larry A. Maynard

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Larry A. Maynard, 61, of Columbus, Ind., passed away at his residence in Forest Park at 11:02 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2012.

Larry was a graduate of the class of 1969 Paris High School and Eastern Illinois University School of Business 1973. Mr. Maynard was honored EIU’s Marketing Student of the year 1972. Upon graduation Mr. Maynard was employed with Caterpillar Tractor Company, Aurora and East Peoria Facility and participated with the launch of the Caterpillar Lafayette, Indiana Facility. During the next several years Mr. Maynard worked the following organizations such as, Ernest & Young, Oswalt Menu Company, Masotech, GKN, Gecom Corporation in Greensburg, Indiana, MS Inspection, Indianapolis, Indiana and was employed at the time of his death with Faurecia located in Columbus.

Mr. Maynard was a graduate of George Washington University School of Engineering Advanced Engineering Education Program taught by Dr. W. Edward Deming. In addition, Mr. Maynard was a certified lead auditor for ISO 14000 - Environment Management System and TS 16949 Quality Management System. Mr. Maynard performed consulting work for several years as President of Performance Enhancement located in Columbus.

Mr. Maynard is survived by his mother, Bessie Gray Maynard of Paris, Ill.; brothers, Paul Jay (Becky Warner) Maynard of Paris, and Donald Wayne (Kay Tanquary) Maynard of Glen Carbon, Ill.; an uncle, Ken Maynard of Phoenix; an aunt, Mary Burton of Montrose, Ill.; nieces, Leah (John) York of Paris, Sarah (Billy Eggers) Warner of Paris, Dr. Cassandra L. Maynard of Maplewood, Mo., and Angela M. Maynard of Bloomington, Ill.; a nephew, Andrew D. Maynard of Glen Carbon, Ill.; three great-nieces; and two great-nephews.

Mr. Maynard was preceded in death by his father, Donald Archie Maynard.

In honor of and in keeping with Mr. Maynard’s wishes, there will be no funeral service and cremation will take place. Arrangements were made by Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home. The family has requested that in honor of his memory that respective individuals display an act of kindness to each other in day to day relationships.
