TERRE HAUTE —
Marjorie “June” Maners, 71, of Terre Haute was taken away in the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 in Union Hospital. She was born October 16, 1940 in Paragon, Indiana to Edward Callahan and Beatrice Grounds Callahan. She was a retired elementary school teacher. June is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ed Maners.
Other survivors include a son, Gary Maners and his wife Cheryl of Terre Haute; two grandchildren, Samantha Ann and Andrew J. (A.J.) Maners of Terre Haute; nieces, Tracie J. McDowell and Jayne A. Jennings; a brother-in-law, Doug Castor and his wife Joan of Indianapolis; a sister-in-law, Betty Wilson and her husband Paul of West Palm, FL; Nephews, Kelly Manganaro and his wife Linda of Lakeworth, FL and Tony Wilson and his companion Crystal Hakes of West Palm Beach, FL; Nieces, Annette Tylek and her husband Michael of Stuart, FL, Natalie Cocuy and her husband Carlos of West Palm Beach, FL, Paula Ward and her husband Adam of Cape Coral, FL, Lisa M. Geissler and her husband Florian of Baton Rough, LA and Dr. Carrie Wilgus and her husband Donnie of Hasting, MI; a brother-in-law, Bill Maners and his wife Cheryl and several great nieces and great nephews. June was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister Ruth E. Callahan.
June was a member of Maryland Community Church, and a former member of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). She was very active in the Thursday afternoons bible study at the church. God gave June and Ed many great opportunities in their lives. Through her husband’s work they were able to live and travel to many places around the world.
A Celebration of Life services will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday, June 23, 2012 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street with Dr. Vince McFarland officiating. Per her request June’s ashes will be buried at a later date. Visitation is scheduled prior to services from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. in the funeral home. The family kindly request that memorial contributions be made to CASA, 141 Oak Street, Terre Haute, IN 47807 or to Maryland Community Church, 4700 S. State Road 46, Terre Haute, IN 47802.
