BRAZIL —
Larry Lee Karn, 71, of Brazil, passed away at Roudebush Veteran’s Medical Center, in Indianapolis, on Sept. 2, 2012. Larry was born in Union City, Ind., on Feb. 21, 1941, the son of Francis David Karn and Mary Gower. Larry served his country in the United States Air Force as a mechanic on the B-52. Following an active duty accident he was medically discharged in 1963.
Larry married Joyce Doud on July 1, 1967 in Parker, Ind.
Throughout his life Larry had several hobbies. He enjoyed computers and had a large Eagle collection. His passions were robotics and playing chess which he was once ranked at 436th in the world.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce Karn; a son, Bradley Karn; grandchildren: Bradley Karn II and Amanda Karn; a brother, Darrell Harmon.
Larry leaves behind two sons, Greg Karn and wife Janice, Jeff Karn; a daughter, Kim Holley and husband Ted, all of Brazil; daughter-in-law, Shelly Karn; sister, Joy Foreman and husband Bud; grandchildren: Jennifer Clodfelter and husband Matt, Ben Karn and wife Penny, Nick Karn, Jeffrey Karn, Johnathon Holley and wife Melissa, Chelsea Holley, and Kaileb Holley; great-grandchildren: Julia and Nora Clodfelter, Weston Holley and Cameron Renard; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Visitation will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel, on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. Services will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Steve Brattain officiating. Burial will follow at Bee Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the House of Hope, 5525 W. U.S. Highway 40, Brazil, IN 47834.
