Della Lee Bortner

TERRE HAUTE — Della Lee Bortner, age 86, of Fairborn, Ohio, passed away Thursday Feb.14, 2013, in the Hospice of Dayton. She was born Dec.25, 1926, in Terre Haute, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Rogers. Della had been employed at Frisch’s Restaurant in Fairborn and she retired as a case manager with Toward Independence in Xenia, Ohio.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Michelle Malmstrom; and two brothers, Bill Shepherd and Clifford Woods.  

She is survived by three children, Bob (Connie) Malmstrom, Diane (Ken) Bullard, Becky (David) Evans, all of Fairborn; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her twin-sister, Ella Sorlie of Terre Haute; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  

A memorial service will be Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at 2 p.m., in  Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road, in Fairborn, with Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of services Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Dayton.
