Billy D. Carrico, 86, of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home. Born May 25, 1926, in Terre Haute, he was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He retired in 1989 from Our Sunday Visitor.
He was a member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Fort Wayne Club of Printing House Craftsmen, and Master Gardener’s Association.
Surviving are his wife, Bettie A. Carrico of Fort Wayne; daughters, Terrie Carrico and Laura Carrico, both of Fort Wayne, Mary (Bryce) Burnworth of Columbia City, and Betsy (Ron) Spiegel of North Webster; a son, Brother Mark Carrico, OFM, CAP, of Detroit; grandchildren, Rachel (Miles) Malstaff, Joey (Kristen) Spiegel, Eric (Ashlee) Burnworth, Benjamin Burnworth, Vincent Burnworth, Amber Marley (David) Gavilanez, and Carrie Marley; and great-grandchildren, Annabelle and Alana Malstaff, Liam Burnworth, Aidan and Averie Gavilanez; and 13 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Carrico and Francis Carrico; and two sisters, Mary McFall and Lola Feree.
Mass of Christian burial is 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 1122 S. Clinton St., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior to mass. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today at Klaehn, Fahl and Melton Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne. Burial is in Catholic Cemetery.
