Miriam Frances Dill Beddow

TERRE HAUTE — Miriam Frances Dill Beddow, 91, of Terre Haute, passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at Springhill Village in Terre Haute. She was born Sept. 28, 1921, in Terre Haute, to Omer and Mary Ellen (Burgess) Dill. Miriam graduated from Gerstmeyer High School in 1939.

She worked at Quaker Maid, American Can Company, Columbia Records, and Terre Haute Casket Company. She was a member of Maplewood Christian Church, where she had helped in the office, sang in the choir, and taught four- and five-year-olds. In recent years, she selected and mailed greeting cards to people in the congregation. Miriam enjoyed spending time with her friends in the CIB Sunday-school class, dining with the Red Hat Ladies, sewing for her family, quilting, crocheting, and reading. Her life was a testimony for Jesus Christ as she served Him faithfully, persevered through suffering, and expressed appreciation to all who took care of her.

Miriam was married in 1941 to Robert Oran Beddow, who preceded her in death in February of 2001. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Dianna Kay Beddow, who died in 1963; her parents, Omer and Mary Ellen Dill; and two brothers, David Dill and Paul James Dill. She is survived by a brother, William Fuller of Palos Hill, Ill.; a sister, Elizabeth Montello of Woodridge, Ill.; two daughters, Virginia Beddow of Manhattan Kan., and Lisa Beddow of Terre Haute; a son, Robert Timothy Beddow of Terre Haute; former daughter-in-law, Debi Beddow of West Terre Haute; five grandchildren, Joshua Andreas and Destiny Fine of Terre Haute, Cortney and Kylee Beddow of West Terre Haute, and Matthew Archibald serving in the U.S. Navy; five great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

Funeral service for Miriam will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St., with Pastor Craig Wininger officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. today. Online condolences may be made at:
