Mary Rose Evelo, 68, died in her sleep on Jan. 4, 2013, quietly passing into that wonderful dimension where Goodness and Comfort are everlasting. She was born July 16, 1944. She will be buried next to her mother and father, Charles S. Evelo and Angela Rose Evelo (Foradori).
She was big sister to Susan Evelo, Cincinnati, Ohio and Joe Evelo, Naples, Fla.; and little sister to John “Robbie” Evelo, Indianapolis, and Elizabeth Evelo Bennett, Terre Haute. She also leaves behind a wonderful and huge family of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Now “Our Angel Above” is free of all worry, pain and human frailties. While consumed with debilitating mental illness her entire life, be comforted to know her adulthood was lived cloistered among people who valued her, cared for her and, indeed, enjoyed her. One of the most polite women on earth, Thank You, was her mantra. She spoke the words often to anyone who did anything for her.
Mary Rose’s family is planning a private funeral service at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, in Terre Haute, at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Terre Haute Noon Optimist Club “Clothe A Child” program, 519 Wabash Ave., Terre Haute, IN 47807, as she was the beneficiary of their generous donations at Christmas time. “In Christ’s Love, Everyone is Someone.” Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th St., in Terre Haute, assisted the family with arrangements.
