WESTFIELD, Ind. —
Betty Fortner Timmons, 91, formerly of Rockville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, in her residence at Sanders Glen Assisted Living in Westfield. She was born in Rockville, daughter of John E. Fortner and Ruby Schneider Fortner, on Jan. 19, 1921.
She was a member of Rockville United Methodist Church. She received her bachelor of science degree from Indiana University in Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Ruby Threlkel. She also was preceded by three brothers, Otis Fortner, Bob Fortner, and Carl Fortner. She is survived by three grandchildren, Nathan Threlkel, Kimberly Greene, and Michele Berg. She also is survived by two sisters, Helen Fortner and Mildred Pendergast; and two brothers, Richard Fortner and Gary Fortner.
Funeral service will be Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. with visitation at 1:30 p.m., prior to service at Butler Funeral Home, 218 N. College St., in Rockville, with Pastor Dave Marty officiating. Burial will be in Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rockville United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available in the funeral home.
