SULLIVAN — Leandra Jo Alsman Hughes, 67, of Sullivan, has gone home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013. She was born in Sullivan, on Aug. 11, 1945, to Billy Alsman and Beulah Rose Alsman. She attended Sullivan High School and Ivy Tech, and worked at Central Sterile Supply-Regional Hospital for 13 years as a Certified Sterile Supply Technician, and later worked at Sullivan County Park and Lake prior to retirement, and assisted with many charities.
She was preceded in death by her “Magnificent Other,” Wilbur R. Randolph, who passed away Jan. 19, 2011. Also preceding her in death was her father, Billy Jo Alsman; and her great-granddaughter, Teara Lynn (Angel Baby). She is survived by her mother, Beulah Mae Alsman; two brothers, Billy (Cheryl) Alsman and Rod (Cathy) Alsman. Also surviving is her son, Jeff and daughter-in-law, Lourdes Hughes; son, Brad Hughes; daughter, Lora Woodard; and daughter, Amy Myers. Other survivors include her grandchildren, Korey and Kasey Hughes, Corbin and Caden Hughes, Cody and Lacey Cox, Cassie (Clint) Followell, Jamie (Tanner) McCammon, Alisa and Jordyn Loveall, and Gareth Myers; as well as great-grandchildren, Nevaeh and Joslynn McCammon and Caydan Followell. Also left behind is her beloved dog, “Baby”; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive, on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Ken Coffman officiating. Burial will follow in Farmersburg Westlawn Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
