Doris E. Swift

TERRE HAUTE — Doris E. Swift, 76, of Allegan, Mich., and formerly of Terre Haute, passed away in Terre Haute, following a brief illness, surrounded by her family. She was born June 14, 1936, in Brazil, the daughter of Jerry and Mildred Langley Wright. She attended Brazil High School. Doris was a devoted mother, grandmother, and passionate caregiver to her little Yorkies. She was retired from Hayworth Company in Michigan and formerly had worked at CBS in Terre Haute for several years.  

Survivors include four children, Jerry L. Swift of Grand Rapids, Mich., James Michael Swift of Terre Haute, and John Swift (Nancy) of Terre Haute; one daughter, Lisa Swift of Terre Haute; three sisters, Shirley Ann Cheatham (Ruel) of Anderson, S. C., Connie Mallory-Johnson (Steve) of Terre Haute, and Barbara Harris (Phil) of Terre Haute; five grandsons, James Swift, Caleb Swift, William Swift, Matthew Swift, and Sebastian Michael Swift; four granddaughters, Laura Swift, Mackenzie Swift, Madison Swift, and Rachel Swift; one great-granddaughter, Aliyah Swift; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; and other extended family.

According to her wishes, cremation will take place and no services will be held.  French Funeral Home in Brazil assisted with arrangements.
