TERRE HAUTE —

Anna Mary Gullifor, 98, of Terre Haute, passed away on Dec. 31, 2012, in Meadows Manor East Nursing Home. She was born on July 3, 1914, to Michael and Margaret (Cunningham) Murphy in Brazil. She graduated from high school in 1932.

Anna Mary married Harold E Gullifor “Lefty” on Dec. 21, 1932. Together, they had four children.

She was a member of St. Benedicts Parish; there, she was a member of the Schulte’s Mothers Club and Altar Society. Anna Mary enjoyed watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, playing bingo and reading Danielle Steele novels.

Anna Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Harold E Gullifor “Lefty”; her parents; five brothers; and one sister.

She is survived by her children, Pat (Rose) Gullifor of South Bend, Carolyn Hanley of Terre Haute, Tom (Mary) Gullifor of Plainfield, and Peggy McEvoy of Ypsilanti, Mich.; 10 grandchildren, Mike (Jody) Gullifor, Paul Gullifor, Barbara (Allan) Thompson, Debbie Miller, John (Kay) Hanley III, Kathy (Don) Dunbar, Tim (Robin) Hanley, Karen (Mike) McCue, Jennifer Hanley, and Christy (James) Garner; 22 great-grandchildren, Brandon (Caryn) Gullifor, Kellen Gullifor, Sarah (Brad) Jarrard, Daniel Gullifor, Allison Gullifor, Collin Thompson, Katie Thompson, Carrie Miller, Daniel Miller, Patrick Miller, John Hanley IV, Kelly (Mike) Manuel, Katie Hanley, Mark Dunbar, David Dunbar, Sean Hanley, Mike Hanley, Ryan McCue, Conner McCue, Lauren McCue, Finn McCue and Grant Garner; three great-great-grandchildren, Kayden Manuel, Kase Manuel, and Cayden Gullifor; two special nieces, Maureen Murphy and Colleen (Bill) Wolford; and a sister-in-law, Anna Mary Corenflos.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 12:05 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, in St. Benedict’s Parish, 111 S. Ninth St., with Father Jeffrey Godecker officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, prior to services at the church. A Rosary will be held at 11:30 a.m. Callahan-DeBaun Funeral Home assisted the family with making arrangements. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to St. Benedict soup kitchen or Terre Haute Catholic Charities. Online condolences can be made at
